Why Volunteer?

There are many reasons why people volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to: meet new people build your confidence learn new skills improve your CV gain new experiences help a group or cause you are interested in ...and have fun!

We have produced a booklet about volunteering for potential volunteers. It helps to answer any questions you may have about volunteering and the different types of opportunities available. To request a free copy please get in touch.

We can also advise you over the phone or by email, we offer one to one appointments in a confidential meeting room, or you can drop in to our office for an informal chat on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10am and 3pm.

Do you need to recruit new volunteers to support your organisation? We can help. The first thing you need to do is register your organisation with us. Click here to register your organisation.

You will then need to register each opportunity for which you require volunteers. Unless you ask us not to, we will also upload information about your opportunities on to the national database of volunteering opportunities: www.do-it.org.uk.

We ask that you complete a separate opportunity form for each volunteering opportunity you register. Click here to register your opportunities.
