Action Together are recruiting a Community Development Worker to develop and deliver engagement and asset-based community development with residents and local partners across the three Big Local Communities of Clarksfield, Greenacres and Littlemoor in Oldham.

This exciting and innovative programme puts residents at the heart of decision making, taking action and finding solutions to the local priorities of: People, New Opportunities, Environment, Wellbeing and Economy, through the principles of Involvement, Partnership and Sustainability.

The Big Local Oldham Community Development Worker will provide support to the resident representatives from the Big Local Oldham Partnership Board, local people, VCFSE groups and partners. If you are looking for a new challenge and enjoy working in a varied role as part of a busy and dynamic team, making positive changes to communities in Oldham, then this could be the role for you.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player and excellent communicator who has significant experience of working with VCFSE/community development-based organisations and using asset-based community development approaches. They will have experience of developing and delivering projects, organising community engagement events, working with community members and community groups to set up and run project ideas and recruiting and supporting volunteers. The ability to prepare high quality written and verbal reports and use IT effectively (eg; Microsoft office, Zoom, Facebook and Twitter) is also essential in this role.
