Happy Micro-volunteering Day!
Today is Microvolunteering Day a chance to celebrate the way that many people doing small actions can make a big impact!
Micro-volunteering as a way to do good is more relevant than ever, as the bite-sized volunteering actions allow people to give their time flexibly from home.
If you have volunteers that aren't able to take part in their usual activities at the moment you may be able to engage them in micro-volunteering. For example; translating guidance, designing digital assets, managing your website or social media. Visit our micro-volunteering webpage for help with how to create an opportunity and take a look back at this presentation from Laura Hamilton from out VCSE conference in 2018 to see how you can adapt your roles.
You can join in the conversation and find inspiration on twitter with #MicroDay.
Hero from Home
We know that lots of people are want to help while they stay home - so we have created a new micro-volunteering opportunity called Hero from Home!
Heroes from Home will support the wider Emergency Response in Salford by sharing important messages to help to keep our communities safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Volunteers will use their own social media accounts to share or post information about Salford’s Covid-19 response - helping to ensure it is highly visible and readily available to those who need it.
