Bolton Deaf Society is a long-established and thriving local charity providing practical and emotional support for D/deaf people. The charity aims to tackle the two linked issues of social isolation, through its social groups and activities, and barriers to communication with the hearing world, through its sign language interpreted information and advocacy service.

Following the appointment of a new board and almost three years of strategic development, which has seen the charity develop new services in line with identified need, and undertake a major refurbishment of the Deaf Centre, the Society is now seeking to appoint its first chief executive.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced leader, have demonstrable experience in senior charity management role(s) and will take personal responsibility for growing the Society’s income.

Interviews will most likely take place in January 2022, but we are encouraging interested candidates to visit the Deaf Centre informally, meet the staff and trustees and to discuss the role with the Society’s strategic lead prior to application.
