Answer Cancer is a Voluntary Community & Social Enterprise sector-led response to cancer in Greater Manchester. It is the working name of the Greater Manchester Cancer Screening Engagement Programme, a Voluntary Sector partnership working to improve cancer awareness across the region.
What: Two training sessions running consecutively after eachother.
1. Creative Approaches to Community engagement:
This short session aims to equip groups and individuals with practical skills and tips to increase audience participation when carrying out engagements within the wider community. The session covers:
Creative planning: Mobilising, tailoring and adapting existing resources: Using various creative approaches for successful effective engagement: Make community engagements fun!!
2. Community Researcher Training:
How do you know your activities are making a difference? How do you know 'what works?' How do you share your success with others and draw in more resource? Evaluation is Key!! This short course will equip you with the confidence, skills and knowledge to answer these questions.
Although both sessions firmly focus on cancer awareness, screening and prevention, they can be used across a wealth of health and wellbeing activity and help with all your group's activities.
Who: We particularly want to involve Voluntary Sector organisations, new and current Cancer Champions.
When: 09.30 - 12.30pm on Tuesday 28th January 2020. Registration is from 9am.
