Nutrition and Hydration and Older People
How to recognise, respond to and have conversations about undernourishment and dehydration
It is estimated that over 10% of older people in the UK are either undernourished or at risk of undernourishment and 20% dehydrated.
The Greater Manchester Nutrition and Hydration Programme increases awareness of the problem and provides support and information to staff and volunteers in health and social care agencies and the community and voluntary sectors.
This 1½ hour training will help you spot the signs of undernourishment and dehydration, provide information on how to help and give confidence to have conversations about diet and appetite.
This session will be useful to anyone working or volunteering with older people.
