Consulting your Community

Registration is closed for this event

About the course

Are you thinking of applying for a grant this year?

Do you want to find out about your social value?

Do you  need to know more about your community or service users?

Consultation with your community or beneficiaries is essential for voluntary and community groups. As well as demonstrating evidence of need to funders and other stakeholders, it also helps build direction for existing groups and can help to launch a new group. Consultation is a great way to build legitimacy for your organisation and helps you understand barriers to participation.

This half day course will help learners to understand why community groups need to consult, identify and overcome the barriers to participation in planning consultation activities and explore a range of consultation methods and their appropriateness for different situations or groups of people.

These consultation skills will help you whether you are applying for funding, measuring your social value or wanting to involve your stakeholders in developing your services.

The training will be delivered by Helen Tomlinson, Development Co-ordinator at Bolton Community and Voluntary Services (Bolton CVS).
