Mental Health in Greater Manchester & Salford
It’s understood approximately 36,500 adults (20% of people age16+) and 6,000 children (12% of people aged 0 -18) living in Salford are believed to have some form of mental wellbeing need. (Salford Mental Wellbeing needs Assessment 2010).
In what ways is Salford tackling the multiple mental health problems faced? What is the role of the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise sector in providing support to individuals and families experiencing mental health challenges? Will the GM Mental health strategy provide opportunities to do something different?
