Living with Covid and moving towards recovery from the impact of the pandemic

Salford CVS have continued to work with our public sector colleagues and VOCAL Leaders on the implementation of Salford’s Outbreak Management Plan which includes supporting test and trace work. We have also been supporting the engagement of communities, though our VCSE partners, that are at higher risk of contracting the virus to ensure that key safety messages are received, understood and the right actions are taken.

Alongside this, we are working with our public sector colleagues and VOCAL Leaders to develop plans to address the health, social and economic inequalities that this pandemic has shined a spotlight on. This includes working to refresh Salford’s 'Tackling Poverty Strategy', 'Community Cohesion Strategy' and 'Equalities Strategy'.  We are also working on the development of a new inclusive economy strategy for the city.

Working together during COVID-19

Watch our video on how local charities, volunteers, community groups and social enterprises, alongside businesses and public sector partners have come together to support our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For current grant applicants

If you have received a grant off us recently and are worried about how you can deliver, don’t worry, we have now emailed you in to ask you whether you want to postpone delivery for up to 3-months OR make changes to deliver on your project outcomes in a different way, possibly remotely.

If you haven't received an email or phone call from us contact grants@salfordcvs.co.uk.

The commitment of VCSE sector funders in Salford

Salford City Council, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, and Salford CVS want to support our communities as much as we can during this unprecedented period. We are happy to extend our previous letter of support for the vital work the sector is doing across Salford.

As funders, grant givers and organisations that contract with the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, we’re committed to the Salford VCSE Strategy and working collaboratively with you as partners. We are therefore committing to supporting you as voluntary and community sector groups, charities and social enterprises (including our foodbanks and food clubs) that are currently in receipt of grant funding or have contracts in place from our organisations to use your skills, resources, relationships and networks to best meet the needs of the people that access your services and support.
