AskDoc
Greater Manchester organisation, AskDoc, are producing multiple information videos on COVID-19 and the vaccine in English as well as Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Sylheti, Somali, Arabic, Bengali, Pushto and Farsi.

The British Red Cross has just launched a comms campaign to address vaccine hesitancy which includes useful resources, info and FAQs – translations into community languages are available.

Public Health England's Coronavirus Resource hub
Public Health England's Coronavirus Resource hub now has translated social media assets covering many aspects of vaccination, including MHRA explained, vaccine deployment, vaccine standards and testing and UK trials.
The resources are available in Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi (Indian and Pakistani), Polish, Slovak, Somali and Urdu.

Alchemy Arts and the Spirit of Salford
A series of coronavirus explainer videos have been produced by Alchemy Arts for the Spirit of Salford network. There are five films, each available in Arabic, Bengali, English, French, Gujarati, Malay, Mandarin, Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish and Urdu. Film topics include what Coronavirus is and the symptoms, who is most likely to catch it, what to do if you have symptoms, what you can do to protect yourself and track and trace.

The BBC Asian Network is helping the South Asian community in the UK to understand key messages regarding Covid, including vaccines and lockdown. The videos are available in five languages and cover the topics below:

Near Neighbours - Community Videos

This video featuring local volunteers and community leaders speaking in ten different languages explains that information regarding coronavirus is available in a range of community languages.

Public Health England
Public Health England has translated the message that COVID-19 testing and treatment is free of charge, irrespective of immigration status in 40 languages (including English). Please visit the PHE Migrant Health Guide under sub-heading ‘Translated advice and guidance for the public’ to access the full set of languages. These translations are based on the simplified message in English available on the NHS website.
The government have also produced guidance, including leaflets, on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19. Follow this link for shielding guidance translated into multiple languages and easy read.

BAME translated resources for people living with dementia
A national resource of written and audio translated materials of the guidance on coronavirus and other information to support those with dementia, their families and carers. The materials have been translated into the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Kurdish, Punjabi, Portuguese, Polish, Somali, and Urdu.

Further to recent changes in the Government and NHS official guidance on COVID-19, Doctors of the World UK have been updating its translated guidance in 60 languages.

Covid-19 Migrant Information Service
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has set up the COVID-19 Migrant Information Service, an online platform that provides multilingual information on COVID-19 measures and support in the UK context. The aim is to support migrants who may face linguistic barriers in navigating complex information. The information is initially available in five languages – English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Romanian – and relates to 5 important areas of everyday life that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 emergency: health, employment, benefits, housing, and immigration.
British Red Cross
In order to prevent people losing contact with loved ones during COVID-19, British Red Cross have produced some tips for staying connected and an Emergency Contact Card where people can write the name of the person they would wish to be contacted should they become seriously ill. This may be next of kin, a family member or friend. The Emergency Contact Card is to be completed in English so that emergency services can easily contact the person’s designated person. The accompanying language guides explain this and tips for people not confident in speaking/writing English.
The prevention messages and Emergency Contact Cards can be downloaded at redcross.org.uk/trace, or people can make their own with paper and pen at home. Currently, there are 11 languages available, with a further 11 in progress.

A group of doctors, medical students and volunteers, have created infographics to help summarise key points about COVID-19 in a variety of languages to get the right information, in an easy to understand format, to these communities.
