Salford City Council's customer services team is back in the Gateway centres to help residents face to face with urgent council related enquiries.
Safety is our priority and we have worked hard to make sure residents can safely visit Broughton Hub and the Gateway centres in Swinton, Eccles, Pendleton and Walkden.
What to expect when you visit
The number of customers allowed in at any one time will be limited to keep everyone safe and priority will be given to transactions that cannot be carried out online or through the Spirit of Salford Helpline 0800 952 1000.
Sanitisers are available to all customers and employees, who will be wearing face masks, with floor walking staff wearing visors for extra protection. Staff and customers will use separate entrances and people will have to follow a queuing system. A one-way flow system is in place with floor markings reminding visitors to keep a two metre distance reinforced with bright yellow poster reminders! Sneeze screens (plastic dividers) have been put in place at the counters. Fabric furniture has been removed and replaced with plastic chairs and cleaning will be of a very high standard in line with recommendations from Salford Royal.
Customer service times
Gateway opening times are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, but digital appointments will continue to run until 8pm so even when the customer service reception is closed, help is still available. This cloud chat service was set up during the pandemic when our staff continued to help customers over the phone and internet. They will work in bubbles so when they’re not working in the Gateways, they’ll continue to work at home, using telephony and online resources to help customers.
