The Vegetarian Society need donations of money to provide food banks with emergency food boxes.
The government announced on Thursday 2 April 2020 that due to the coronavirus, nearly 1 million people have applied for benefits in the last two weeks. While these people are waiting for their money to come through, many of them will be relying on food banks. With food banks receiving fewer donations, they are desperately short of food.
Please help now by donating money so the Vegetarian Society can get food boxes out to as many food banks as possible. The boxes contain the ingredients, recipe and everything needed for two nutritious, hearty veggie meals, which provide people with eight servings of food. Each meal can be cooked in one go then eaten straight away, kept in the fridge or frozen.
The Vegetarian Society are working with The Trussell Trust, a national network of food banks. They are identifying which food banks are most in need of help across the country. We need your help to get food boxes out to them urgently.
