The Festival of Learning is a series of both national and regional awards that aim to celebrate adult learning.

It was previously known as Adult Learners’ Week.

We have been encouraging our Salford Third Sector Community Learning partners to send in nominations for the award categories below:

  • Individual learners
  • Tutors
  • Innovative learning projects or provision
  • Employers

The awards recognise and celebrate the positive difference made to communities / families / individuals and workplaces by taking part in lifelong learning.

The nominations have now closed and the winners will be announced in mid- June with an awards ceremony taking place in September. The awards recognise the outstanding achievement of both people and organisations.

Within our Community Learning offer in Salford, a diverse range of adults attend courses to help improve their learning and skills. Many people find this a stepping stone to further learning as their confidence builds and this can help to transform their lives.

We offer courses for adults across Salford including:

  • basic English and maths
  • learning how to Blog or set up a website
  • basic IT skills
  • ESOL courses for people wanting to improve their English
  • Craft and gardening courses
  • Working with children
  • Working in Health and Social Care
  • Warehouse and construction skills
  • Broadcast media courses
  • Courses to help with finding employment
