15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, days and times to be agreed. Some additional hours may be required with time off in lieu. Overtime payments do not apply.
£21,000 per annum pro rata (Actual salary £9,000 pa)

START are recruiting for a Finance Assistant

Due to the continuing expansion of the Charity, an exciting new role has arisen within our Finance Department. This is a great opportunity for a finance assistant to join us in a new and varied position which will give diverse exposure to our busy accounting function. 

Do you have a head for numbers and an eye for detail? Are you a team player who can also work independently?  Do you have a “hands on” attitude and a commitment to achieving deadlines?  If so, this new role could be exactly what you are looking for. 

Working with our Business & Finance Manager, you’ll be a vital part of the team and will be responsible for aspects of both accounts receivable and accounts payable. This is an essential role which will play an important part in the smooth running of the Finance function. You will have responsibility for a variety of tasks which you must be able to carry out in an accurate, timely and thorough manner.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with a flexible approach and an ability to help troubleshoot issues that arise in day-to-day work. You do not need specific finance qualifications, but if you hold or are working towards AAT (or similar) this may be an advantage.

Key Aspects of the Role:-

  •  Ensuring that invoices, expenses, petty cash and bank transactions are recorded accurately
  • Preparing monthly reports as part of the management accounts process
  • Reconciling statements and preparing payment information
  • Ensuring accurate tracking of restricted and unrestricted income and expenditure
