Shift Click programme is a new two-track digital training programme for young Greater Manchester residents.
The programme has just launched and is open for online applications now.
Shift Click offers two fully online courses for 18-29 year olds:
Introduction to Coding Pick up the essential skills to start building with code and realising your own design ideas on the web. A great general introduction for a wide variety of digital roles. |
Full Stack Web Development Build digital products from start to finish, back-end to front-end, using the latest and best practices. Training sessions are led by industry experts, and all participants are guaranteed job interviews on completion of the course. |

Please also see the Shift Click Referral Partner Guide, attached.
Both courses will provide: CV, job search, and interview support; links to real employers in the digital sector, and mentoring (both formal and informal).
Our training is fully-subsidised (free!), online (due to Covid), and compatible with Universal Credit (you can take either course and still continue to claim). We can also provide participants with a computer or internet access as and where needed.
We’re particularly interested in receiving applications from young people who are under-represented in Manchester tech: women, care-leavers, college-leavers, and ethnic minorities. Our team offers an additional service - whereby we can work directly with social workers, carers, or support staff to provide regular feedback and support on participant progress.
We don't look at qualifications - what matters most is commitment and an interest in learning to code. So if you support, mentor, or work with a young person or young people who you think would be suitable for this opportunity and would like more information, or to arrange a chat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me on 0800 5835933 or at chad.doyle@shiftclick.co.uk.
Please note that places are limited (we can accept a maximum of 50 over both courses) and we will be assessing applications until all places are full. Participants for the Introduction to Coding course do not need to want to go into the tech industry, but we are looking for people for whom either course would act as a direct springboard into employment – with the support of the Shift Click team.
