This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Kidscan are asking people across the UK to get involved in their #GoldFor campaign by sharing who they are wearing their Gold Ribbon for.
Simply upload an image, the name of the person and the reason you wear gold for them and Kidscan will take care of the rest.
1 in 500 children will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 14. Although advances in treatments have improved survival rates, the treatments used are harsh and are often designed for adults. Because of this, 60% of those who survive childhood cancer, will suffer from late-effects of the treatment used to save their lives. These effects can include mobility issues, organ problems, psychological and developmental issues and in some cases infertility.
With your support, Kidscan can change this.
Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research is dedicated to finding safe new treatments for children diagnosed with cancer, so that they can survive and thrive throughout adulthood, without suffering life-long, life-limiting side effects.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month helps them to raise awareness of these issues, as well as the vital funds needed to continue their work.
