Tune into the Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN)'s Health Hour - COVID-19 Vaccine Panel.
The event will be held on Saturday 16 January from 11am - 12:30pm.
This event will be hosted by 16 of CAHN's medical professionals who will be sharing their experiences and their personal reasons for taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
The effects of COVID-19 have (and continue) been felt across the globe affecting millions of people. There have been high rates of mortality and long-standing morbidity as a result of the disease. COVID-19 trials are underway to find a way to stop the deadly disease impacting our way of life and causing grief to all of us.
So far, there has been a limited uptake from the Black community to participate in the COVID -19 trials. This can potentially pose a real problem for Black people in that it could threaten how effective the vaccine (if developed) will be for Black people as environmental exposures over time can result in a different immunological response.
