Aims of the Awards:

  • To thank and recognise volunteers
  • To raise the profile of volunteering
  • To promote diversity in volunteering

The awards are open to people who:

  • Reside in the City of Salford
  • Volunteer for an organisation that benefits the people of Salford
  • Are not previous category winners

Award categories

1. Community Volunteer

Open to all volunteers who give their time freely in order to make a positive difference in Salford.

 

4. Over 55 Volunteer

People over 55 who volunteer in the city to make a difference to the lives of others.

2. Young Volunteer (under 25)

Young people who have made a difference to their own life prospects and to the lives of others through volunteering.

 

5. Personal Achievement Volunteer

Individuals who have developed personally through volunteering and/or may have overcome personal/practical difficulties in order to volunteer.

3. Trustee / Committee Member

Individuals who have given their time in the role of a trustee, management committee or board member to ensure the effective governance and sustainability of a Salford voluntary, community or social enterprise organisation.

 

6. Volunteering Team of the Year

Too hard to nominate just one volunteer? Then why not nominate your whole team of volunteers! Tell us why they should win our Volunteering Team of the Year Award. 

     

Please note that nominating organisations or individuals are welcome to nominate in one individual volunteering category plus a volunteering team of the year.

Judging details
The judges will use the information provided to help make their decisions. Please complete all relevant sections as fully as possible. Please give full details of the nominee's voluntary work.
Please list all organisations the nominee is involved with.
Detail specific roles e.g. chair, fundraiser
Please refer to the criteria above. Please provide as much information as possible as the judges will use this information to help make their decisions. Minimum 200 words, maximum 500 words.

All nominations will go before the shortlisting panel unless notified otherwise.

Nominations must be submitted online or post by Friday 14th September 2018.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 21st November 2018 at AJ Bell Stadium, Stadium Way, Eccles, Salford, M30 7EY.
