Child neglect is a huge priority in Salford, and a key change is being introduced over the next few months to help professionals and practitioners identify cases of neglect.
The brand new ‘Thriving Families Neglect Tool’ will be available to you to aid your discussions with families, guide you on what to ask and what to look for and give you more confidence to identify neglect. It’s simple and easy to use and we’ve had really positive feedback from a range of professionals who have been involved in testing.
Your views on the tool are very important and at the upcoming Salford Safeguarding Children Partnership Practitioner Forums on ‘Thriving Families and Neglect’ you’ll have the opportunity to find out more and give your feedback. The SSCP want the tool to make a real difference to how we work in Salford to identify neglect and support families to thrive.
More information will follow on the tool and how to access it. If you’re interested in attending the SSCP Practitioner Forum please see this webpage for more information.
