
Fit Over Fifty have put together their ‘Use It or Lose It’ Booklet and Toolkit to accompany their chair-based exercise classes for people over the age of 50.
The exercises come with a list of benefits for body, mind, as well as a list of social benefits including empowerment, making friendships, and reducing loneliness.
The Use It or Lose It booklet has 32 easy to follow exercises, illustrated and with clear instructions to improve your flexibility, balance, strength and coordination. All the exercises can be used on their own or in a group led by staff.
The Toolkit has a resistance band and softball, used during the exercises, as well as a music CD containing 12 specifically chosen tracks to keep a steady rhythm and to uplift the spirit with a singalong. Each toolkit comes with an individual bag to put a personal name on and ensure hygiene.
