Matthew Dodd, Head of Policy and Public Affairs is asking for organisations to join the call to put children at the heart of recovery.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been widespread, affecting the lives of every baby, child and young person in the country. Even before the onset of the crisis, child poverty was rising, education budgets were under pressure and children’s services were at breaking point. It’s time for a new vision of childhood to support children and young people to recover from the impact of COVID-19 and enable them to thrive.
The National Children's Bureau needs your support to make this vision a reality.
On Wednesday 1 July, the children’s sector will call on Government to put children at the heart of their coronavirus response, starting with the chancellor’s anticipated budget in July.
Together, we can inspire Government to listen to the needs of children and young people by:
- Signing up to a joint statement, calling on the government to put children at the heart of recovery. To sign up to the attached statement, send your logo to Celeste, cpergolizzi@ncb.org.uk by close of play on Friday 26 June.
- Promoting children’s voices on social media. Join the conversation on Wednesday 1 July with quotes, photos and videos from children and young people themselves highlighting how their lives have been affected and what they need as we move to recovery.
