The Sheila McKechnie Foundation 2021 survey of campaigners and change-makers is now open.

Every year, SMK ask campaigners what’s going on in their world.

Whether you’re big and national or small and local, employed, freelance or volunteer – SMK need to hear from you.

The survey is open until 12 November and takes around 15 minutes to complete.

Salford Schools can access a discount for Van Gogh Alive, the most attended multi-sensory experience in the world which will run at Media City, from 22 October 2021 to 23 January 2022.

This is a unique opportunity for schools or groups to visit this universally renowned immersive, digital exhibition.

Snap Your Town online competition and workshop is open to young people aged 11 - 19 living in England.

You can download the workbook here, there are three tasks to take part in and prompts and guidance is provided in the book.

Does your organisation work with people who are Black, aged 16 and over and identify as women? 

Sporting Equals is undertaking a research project funded by Sport England that looks at experiences of participation in sport, exercise, and fitness activities by Black women aged 16 years and older in England. This research is being conducted as data suggests a drop in levels of physical activity in Black women during Covid-19 (Active Lives Survey May 2019/20). 


The Lowry is hosting a free training day for anyone interested in arts for social change and working with young people.

The day will involve meeting various Lowry staff members from the Learning and Engagement department and the training will include:

  • Applied theatre
  • Making work inclusive & accessible
  • Safeguarding and pastoral support
  • Creative evaluation

It takes place on Wednesday 24th November, 10 am - 3 pm, lunch will be provided.


Trustees’ Week takes place annually, this year it is held on the 1-5 November 2021.

With the approach of the fireworks’ night, the government has produced safety tips on how to use fireworks responsibly and considerately.
