Calling professional & amateur photographers!
The Greater Manchester Older People's Network, Macc and the GMCA are delighted to announce the launch of the Old Frame New Picture photography competition. This competition replaces the Age Proud competition that was launched earlier this year before the pandemic and we have redesigned this competition in response to current lockdown measures.
They are delighted to invite photography submissions to our competition, celebrating and promoting positive and realistic images of older people with a connection to Greater Manchester. Old Frame New Picture is working to challenge the negative and stereotyped ways older people are represented in the media, something that has become even more prevalent during the coronavirus pandemic. Submissions are welcome from all photographers, which celebrate the diversity of older people’s lives and their contributions to society.
Professional and amateur photographers can take part in this competition by submitting a photograph of at least one person aged over 50, under one of six themes:
- Activism
- Supporting my community
- Old and proud
- Friends and family
- Taking part
- Self-portraits (including selfies)
A range of prizes is on offer including cash prizes, inclusion in an online exhibition, and the opportunity for winning images to be part of a digital billboard campaign across Greater Manchester.
The deadline for entries is Friday 13th November, 5pm.
