10GM in partnership with Flourish CiC are working on a commission for the Greater Manchester Combiner Authority learning more about women’s experiences of accessing support, women’s centres or other services at a time of difficulty or crisis. This information will be used to support future approaches regarding the re-commissioning of Women’s Services and Centres.
There are several ways you can involved:
1. Be part of a focus group
A number of focus groups are being arranged. These are sessions are women-only focus groups and are aimed at agencies of women with views and experience.
- Thursday 24th September 12-1.30pm – open focus group in partnership with Women in Wings, Salford this will have a Salford / Wigan and BAME focus
- Date tbc – a Focus Group in partnership with Fran Barker, formerly the Barker Baker which will focus on women with current or former convictions – email if interested and a zoom link can be provided.
- Date tbc – a Focus Group in partnership with HEART, Make a Pathway and some others which will focus on young women – email if interested and a zoom link can be provided

2. Request a one to one interview
Flourish CiC are undertaking 25 interviews with a mixture of established agencies and smaller agencies as well as with individual women themselves. These will look at learning more about gaps, needs and opportunities in both services and support as well as ways to improve the re-commissioning process.
3. Complete this anonymous survey (or encourage / support the people you work with to)
The survey is aimed at individuals rather than agencies so that commissioners can better understand the experiences of women trying/ needing to access support when facing multiple or complex issues as well as understand the scale of hidden needs.
As a thank you for people’s time in doing this, there are details at the end of the survey as to how to enter a free prize draw with a couple of cash prizes and some support prizes.
4. Request an invite to the virtual round table discussions
The round table will be held on 21st October with commissioners present and including headline findings from the partnership agencies and some individuals we are supporting to help reach out into diverse communities and help deliver the consultation.
