With more people now returning to work, and to reflect government advice for social distancing on public transport, from Tuesday 2 June 2020 Greater Manchester concessionary travel pass holders* will no longer be able to travel for free on public transport before 9.30am on weekdays.
The offer was introduced on Friday 20 March to help pass holders shop during ring-fenced hours at supermarkets and attend medical appointments.
The reintroduction of the 9.30am restriction will help Transport for Greater Manchester and public transport operators manage capacity and the challenges facing the network during the morning peak period, to keep passengers as safe as possible and help limit the spread of coronavirus.
All concessionary pass holders will continue to benefit from free bus travel after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays. Pass holders who have paid to add tram and train to their concessionary pass can also continue to travel for free on Metrolink and train services in Greater Manchester at these times.
