Although there is extensive national research into COVID-19 (coronavirus), particularly during the earlier stages of the pandemic, relying on national surveys does not give the level of detail required on who within the GM population is being most affected, the issues they are facing, what support they need, and how communications and support may be best targeted and delivered.
Therefore, this research has been undertaken on behalf of Greater Manchester localities and partners to provide deeper and more regular insight on the issues and impacts of coronavirus across Greater Manchester as a whole, and within its 10 local authorities.
Please find the survey results here (opens in new tab)
An overview of these issues and impacts in Greater Manchester and each local area is available in the document summary on pages 6-35. This is followed by more extensive detail in subsequent pages.
BMG Research was commissioned to undertake monthly online and telephone surveys of at least 1,000 residents. Quotas were set and weightings applied to ensure the sample reflects the profile of residents in Greater Manchester. This first report is based on fieldwork undertaken between Friday 20th November and Wednesday 2nd December – a period covering the second national lockdown.
The next survey will begin later this week, running through to the end of the Month. We will share the results from this survey once they are available early in the new year.
