Join the Salford ESOL Network
The ESOL strand of the Skills and Work Team are creating a brand new ESOL Network in Salford. This network is aimed at:
- voluntary organisations, charities or community groups
- ESOL and community learning providers
- local businesses based in Salford
- anyone who serves Salford residents
The purpose would be to share ideas and good practice, encourage joint ventures and collaborations, create volunteering, training and work experience opportunities specifically for those with language barriers. The team specifically encourage those organisations who work with local communities and/or have a corporate social responsibility, to become part of this group.
Anyone interested in joining this network, please email SalfordESOL@salford.gov.uk.
Membership is free.
The first meeting will be held on Wednesday 3 March 2021 at 9.30am.
Community and Resident Engagement
The team would like the community to:
- Play a significant part in shaping the ESOL and community learning landscape in Salford
- Engage with local residents and groups about their experience of learning
- Identify the challenges and barriers in accessing learning and local services – and explore solutions
- Identify resident needs, motivations and aspirations.
If you work with local groups and residents, the team would like to be involved in this dialogue with you.
Please contact mariam.wahab@salford.gov.uk for a chat and feel free to share this.
