Survivors Manchester has been providing therapeutic and advocacy support services to male survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual exploitation in Greater Manchester for over 12 years.

As a leader in the field of sexual abuse, our amazing IAPT compliant/trauma-informed therapy team have the regular honour of engaging with inspirational boys and men as they travel on their journey of healing to become free from the traumatic experiences.

Our Senior Trauma Informed Therapist is an essential part of the clinical governance and administration of the services, whilst being an essential part of the client’s own journey as their therapist.

You’ll be CBT qualified, HIT or hold an IAPT approved qualification e.g. EMDR, CfD, IPT or DIT; be a BACP Member (or similar) and be committed to being part of a brilliant team of change makers.

The Candidate

 As a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist, registered with BACP or equivalent (preferably as an accredited member), you will have experience of working with individuals presenting with difficult and challenging issues; understand the multifaceted impact of acute and complex trauma, particularly interpersonal or sexual violence; experience of performing tasks associated with clinical governance or leadership such as waiting list management, case allocation and peer-supervision; and be able to work in a team environment to ensure clients’ needs are met.

As part of the Clinical Governance Team, you will ensure Survivors Manchester’s quality assured services are delivered to our high standards; whilst playing your part within the wider services delivery team to innovate and evolve our offer to meet changing needs of our diverse population.

Your time will be split 90/10 between the delivery of 1:1 therapy and supporting the Clinical governance, for that exciting balance.

 Job Description

To support the governance of and deliver our quality assured trauma-informed therapeutic services to primary and secondary beneficiaries in Greater Manchester.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead peer-mentoring support to trauma-informed therapists.
  • Deliver trauma-informed therapeutic services.
  • Lead accurate clinical record keeping of therapeutic service interventions.
  • Lead the supervision of therapeutic services waiting lists.
  • Undertake specific therapeutic projects as directed by the Management and Executive Leadership Team.

  • Provide a polite, courteous and professional response to all inbound communications via electronic communications, telephone or in person, accurately recording any messages or follow on actions.
  • Be responsible for reporting any concerns for the safety of an individual or damaged/faulty equipment using Survivors Manchester’s ratified procedures.
