15th - 20th June is Small Charity Week.
Small Charity Week celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK's small charity sector who make an invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world.
With charities battling not to be forgotten amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and smaller locally based charities especially exposed to the crisis, we will be taking part in Small Charity Week by highlighting the amazing work of Salford's good causes, sharing how we can help and calling for more support for the VCSE sector across the country.
I Love Small Charities Day
Monday 15th June
Small Charity Way is kicked off with a day to raise awareness of the work of small charities. In the face of coronavirus, charities, large and small, are #NeverMoreNeeded - for the essential support they provide in crisis and beyond, and how they shape our society for the better. At Salford CVS, we will be sharing the stories of small charities' response to COVID-19 throughout the day to show that they are #NeverMoreNeeded.
You can read about the vital work of VCSE organisations, including small charities, in our #SalfordStories report here.
You can join in the #NeverMoreNeeded campaign by downloading resources from this dedicated hub.

Fundraising Day
Thursday 18th June
Charities are facing increased demand on their services and a reduction in fundraising income.
With one in eight small charities facing bankruptcy within months - we know that they need support now more than ever to continue to run their vital services.
We'd encourage you to share your fundraising campaigns on social media and tag us in your posts so we can promote them throughout the day.
At Salford CVS, we are fundraising to support the community response to COVID-19 in Salford.
Small Charity Big Impact Day
Friday 19th June
For Big Impact Day, Small Charity Week is asking charities to share the amazing impact that they have made over the last 12 months.
They have produced a template you can use to post on social media using #SmallCharityBigImpactDay
Appreciation Day
Saturday 20th June
We know that small charities are powered by their dedicated staff and volunteers. In response to COVID-19 we've seen small charity teams go above and beyond to support their communities.
This Appreciation Day, Small Charity Week is paying special tribute to recognise those who have continued their efforts and to those who have been personally affected by COVID-19.
To take part share your Appreciation story to tilly.humphreys@smallcharities.org.uk or join in on the day by using #AppreciationDay and tagging Small Charity Week in your posts.
If you also tag Salford CVS we will be sure to share!
