LGBT Foundation is looking for an organised individual that is passionate about supporting the mental health needs of the LGBTQ+ community to join us as a Talking Therapies Coordinator!


LGBT Foundation is looking for a Talking Therapies Coordinator to join our team. LGBT Foundation has based its services on a well-developed expertise around the key health and social care issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities, including:

  • Mental health
  • Sexual health
  • Wellbeing
  • Community safety
  • Drugs & alcohol
  • Domestic abuse

The Talking Therapies Coordinator will be responsible for the operational management of the Talking Therapies Programme volunteers and the day-to-day oversight and coordination of our Talking Therapies Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of the Talking Therapies waiting list, which will include delivering check in calls, allocating to a team of 28 volunteer therapists and providing operational and administrative support to the Mental Health Lead and Volunteer Team.

Further tasks include:

  • Working closely with the Wellbeing Coordinator and Delivery Directorate in order to achieve the integrated delivery of our Talking Therapies Services.
  • Using internal monitoring systems and providing information for reports.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers.
  • Supporting staff and volunteers delivering the service.
  • Assessing service user referrals and assigning to appropriate practitioners in conjunction with the Talking Therapies Programme Manager.
  • Assessing and monitoring risk in line with LGBT Foundation’s framework, policies and procedures.
  • Providing safeguarding support to those delivering front line services.

We are taking positive action to encourage applications from people of colour (PoC) and other racially minoritised communities, trans, non-binary and/or older people (aged 50+), to improve the representation of colleagues from these communities in our staff team.

* Trans is an umbrella & inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs in some way from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, cross dressers and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.
