The Get Creative steering group members have made the responsible decision to end promotion of the Get Creative Festival which was due to take place from the 9th to 17th May 2020.
They will instead be concentrating their efforts on supporting the public to creatively express themselves through #GetCreativeAtHome. At this extremely challenging time, they believe that the power of creativity to unite people and support them to maintain good mental health is more important than ever. They know that many people across the UK will be facing long periods of isolation and anxiety in the coming weeks and having a creative outlet will be incredibly important in helping people to find meaning, purpose and connection.
The power of the Get Creative campaign has always come from the support of the cultural sector, independent artists, community groups and grassroots practitioners. By working together in recent years, They have shared the joys and positive benefits of creativity with a huge mainstream audience. They aim to do this again now, with their unique partnership allowing them to amplify the great work being done by people and organisations to share ways members of the public can get creative in the current circumstances.
