WEA has been providing high-quality educational opportunities to communities since 1903.
Due to Covid-19, WEA has developed its normal courses to enable them to deliver them online. They have tried to focus on courses that will provide residents with the skills and the knowledge to provide resilience for themselves and to be able to support others both during and on the other side of this crisis.
They will continue to offer ESOL as usual (online of course) as well as introducing the following courses:
- Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
- Level 1 Award in Stress Awareness
- Level 1 Award in Awareness of Substance Misuse
- Level 2 Award in Counselling Skills
- A pathway into Social Care Employment
- L1 and 2 Award in Community interpreting
In addition to the usual eligibility criteria, WEA is offering courses free to all and asking learners who can to donate an amount they can afford to the WEA.
In addition to this WEA are still well placed to support learners who have barriers to getting online to learn and they have a supply of laptops / tablets that they can loan to individuals who otherwise would not be able to access the course.
If you have any questions or want to book over the phone, then call WEA's friendly support centre on 0300 303 3464.
