Young people from across Greater Manchester are invited to apply for a place on the Youth Advisory Group.
The group of successful applicants will be aged between 11 and 30-year-olds and will work directly with Diane Modahl (Chair of the Youth Task Force), to provide direction and challenge to the Task Force to ensure the centrality of the young person’s voice. They will also have an influence in not only shaping, but developing and creating the Young Person’s Guarantee.
The Guarantee will focus on four key areas:
- Keeping connected - Increased challenges caused because of social and digital exclusion, particularly amongst young people who are most disconnected and disadvantaged.
- Staying well - greater risk of poorer mental health and well-being caused by social isolation, reductions in support and increased anxiety about the future.
- Preparing for transition back into work and/or education - Increased chances of young people experiencing longer-term labour market inequalities and challenges because of the consequences of the pandemic.
- Reducing economic inequalities - greater risk of poorer transitions from school and college, particularly for those young people in Years 11 and 13, and for those seeking employment.
Young people from all over Manchester are invited to apply to take part in the Advisory Group, no experience is necessary but the team are looking for young people who have some great ideas of what works and what doesn’t.
Applications to join the Youth Advisory Group are open until Sunday, August 2, 23:59.
