Salford CVS coordinates a Volunteer Wellbeing Champion programme across Salford aiming to increase older people’s independence, wellbeing, improve access to information and quality of life.
Our partners include Salford Together, ICT (Inspiring Communities Together), Salford Community Leisure & Salford City Council.
The programme consists of recruiting and managing volunteers to support projects such as:
- Tech and Tea (Introducing older people to technology in an informal setting),
- Postural Stability & Step Up (Exercise classes for older people who have had / are at risk of having a fall),
- Social Activities in Care Homes
- Community Outreach (Engaging residents in wellbeing conversations)
- Scam Mail Awareness (Identifying victims of scam mail)
The roles are varied and rewarding and we provide training and expenses for all volunteers.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Wellbeing Champion, you are invited to attend our volunteer training & induction day on: Wednesday 26th September 9.45am - 4pm
This day will:
- Introduce you to your fellow volunteers
- Familiarise you with our volunteer policy
- Get you up to speed with any necessary paperwork
- Introduce you to the different projects you could volunteer on
- Help you identify your skills, knowledge and passions which you can tap into to be a successful volunteer!
Refreshments and lunch provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
The training will be held at Salford CVS Training Room, The Old Town Hall, 5 Irwell Place, Eccles, M30 0FN
