With the help of the Salford Together My Wellbeing Plan, volunteer Wellbeing Champions help older people to think a bit more about their wellbeing. Volunteers hold a conversation based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing and can signpost older people to activities in their local community.
Salford Together is a partnership between Salford City Council, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, and Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The alliance has developed an Integrated Care Programme for Older People in Salford. (link to Salford Together material)
The My Wellbeing Plan was created with the help of local older people and aims to encourage a commitment to planning wellbeing activities. The Plan is used in local neighbourhoods in a variety of settings to support older people to stay healthy and well. Keeping healthy and well may be to join in and become a Volunteer Wellbeing Champion!
The Volunteer Wellbeing Champion opportunity is open to all adults but with particular focus on older people becoming volunteers to help promote the wellbeing message to their peers.
Travel expenses are reimbursed and training and support are provided.
