Salford is now in the Very High Local Covid Alert - Tier 3 Level.

We also have a page dedicated to easy read Covid information, which features useful resources from Mencap, Inclusion North, Pathways and more.

The Women's Resilience Fund and the Covid 19 Frontline Women's Fund are for women’s organisations and services that are supporting women aged 18+ whose poverty has been exacerbated by the pandemic or those that have been pushed into new poverty and financial hardship.

The deadline for these programmes are the 10th and 16th November respectively, but you still have time to apply.

In order to support women’s organisations to apply for these funds, Rosa will be hosting a webinar with Smallwood Trust on Tuesday 3rd November, 11.00am – 12.00 noon.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme closes on 31‌‌‌ ‌October and organisations will need to make any final claims on or before 3‌0‌‌‌ ‌November and the new Job Support Scheme opens on 1‌‌‌ ‌November, with claims opening on 8‌‌‌ ‌December. To support organisations HMRC are running a series of COVID-19 support for employers webinar. 

HMRC are also running monthly webinars on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme. Giving information on the latest information on: who can claim 
who you can claim for 
how to make a claim 
what you may be entitled to, and more. 

The Migrant Destitution Fund supports migrant people who have "no recourse to public funds" - a policy which leaves people unable to meet their basic needs, not supported by the state and not allowed to do paid work to support themselves. People supported by the Fund are mostly asylum seekers and people whose right to remain isn't recognised by the Home Office. Many eventually win the right to remain...but it is a long process. It traps people in destitution.

There are three key ways you can support the fund: donate and encourage others to (until 9 November donations are being matched), invite them to speak to your group and follow them on social media and share their posts.

Safety4Sisters North West is a small frontline feminist Black and minority ethnic led women’s charity working with vulnerable migrant women who have experienced gender-based violence and who are subject to immigration control.

The Locked Out of Abuse, Locked Out of Safety report shares the organisation's experiences and the experiences of the women they support, through the unprecedented period of covid-19.

The report highlights how the service has responded to a sharp increase in demand, in relation to the local and national responses whilst place in the foreground the voices of the women that Safety4Sisters support.

The Multiplier is a brand new programme helping people to develop their own bridge-building initiatives in their own communities in their own ways.

This new programme will invest in, support and connect social entrepreneurs, community organisers and people working in systems to deepen and broaden their impact – so that more people across the UK can feel part of our changing world rather than left behind by it.

In this first year, they are looking for 10 people who share their values, have distinct ideas and who meet the criteria listed here.

Applications close on Tuesday 3rd November at 11am.

Flu kills 11,000 people each year. The flu vaccine is offered free to certain people because they need it. You can help to save the NHS from fighting flu this winter by sharing this important message about getting the free flu jab.

Print and display the posters and share the graphics on social media using #SalfordFightingFlu.

Living Wage Week is an annual celebration recognising employers who choose to go further and pay a real Living Wage based on the cost of living, not just the government minimum. This year Living Wage Week runs from 9th – 15th November.

Powerful portraits, words and experiences are captured in 'Still I'll Rise, celebrating Black history in Salford.

Last year, NHS Salford CCG launched Still I Rise during Black History Month to celebrate BAME people working within health and care. This year, they have built on the project with new portraits and stories featured in this video.

Grants of up to £1,000 for voluntary, community or social enterprise organisations undertaking Covid-safe health and wellbeing projects for the benefit of Salford residents Apply by Friday 27th November 2020. You can learn more about wellbeing with this 6-minute video.

Salford CVS is inviting expressions of interest for Covid-safe physical activity projects for families, children and young people.

Grants of up to £5,000 for Salford-based voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations are available.

The Fund aims to ensure that faith and community groups who provide winter accommodation can this year provide single room COVID-19 secure accommodation, and will also support services that prevent rough sleeping and work with people sleeping rough in innovative ways.
