What’s happening?

Salford CVS are undertaking a research project alongside the 0-25 Transition work Salford City Council and the NHS Salford Clincal Commissioning Group are undertaking. Our new Research and Development worker, Lucy Sutcliffe, will be surveying, interviewing, running focus groups and generally picking the brains of representatives and participants from 50 Volunteer, Community and Social Enterprise Groups in Salford that work with children and young people. She will be writing a report to feed into the wider Salford City Council and NHS Salford CCG.

Why?

Our goal is to demonstrate how much voluntary organisations, community groups and social enterprises do and how brilliant they are at it. This is expected to influence some of the spending and demonstrate how effective this work is in offering support to children and young people in Salford.

What’s in it for you?

We have some rewards for participating- some financial support to thank you for your time. If you engage with the main survey your group will receive £50. We will also be making IMPACT REPORTS for a proportion of the groups, these can be used as adverts, to support funding applications, to evidence reports and you will receive another £50 if you do an Impact Report. Furthermore, for the groups that join in with the value for money research another £50 is available. If you engage with all 3 opportunities you will receive £150 for your group.

Make your voice heard

Most importantly, this is a great opportunity to show the value of the work that you are currently delivering, include some specific ‘magic moment’ stories you’d love to share from your community. It’s also a chance to raise any issues you feel are important and want to be put on the agenda for the decision makers of the city of Salford.

What does the R&D worker need to know?

  • How much do you support children or young people with health and wellbeing issues?
  • Do you work with children and young people who have disabilities- either in larger groups or as individual participants?
  • How much do you encounter speech, language and communication issues

We are trying to find out what your responses are and what kinds of support you provide regarding these issues.

If you run a youth groups or activities for any child or young person, whatever their needs are, from infant upwards, we’d love to hear from you.
