The aim of this course is
To provide practical, relevant food safety knowledge for all food handlers.
This course will help you to
• Understand relevant legislation
• Identify food safety hazards
• Understand temperature control, refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
• Understand hot holding and reheating
• Develop cooking skills, food handling and cleaning skills
• Understand principles of safe food storage
• Gain awareness and knowledge of equipment and food premises

Staff, volunteers and trustees who handle food from all voluntary and community sector organisations that are active in Salford.
Trainer profile
Salford Hundred Venture is one of the country’s longest established Enterprise Agencies and has been working alongside organisations in the area for 22 years, helping them to grow and develop.
Assessment and certification
This is a recognised course with a multiple choice exam that will give all participants an opportunity to receive CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene. This course is certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
