Working Together to Safeguard Children

Aim of Session

To give workers in the voluntary and community sector a basic yet effective awareness of how to adequately safeguard and protect children. 

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this sessions learners will achieve the following Learning outcomes:

  • LO1 To consider the current context of Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • LO2 To understand that each agency shares a common goal, and to reflect on your own responsibility
  • LO3 To increase knowledge and understanding of legislation, policy, and procedure of safeguarding children
  • LO 4 To understand the importance of recording information, and how to make a referral
  • LO5 To understand the impact of working with trauma on practitioners and the importance of self-care

Target Audience

Staff and volunteers working in the VCSE sector who provide support, information advice and guidance or activities to children and young adults on a regular basis.

Swinton Gateway is centrally located on the site of the old Crompton House very close to Swinton Shopping Centre. There is easy access to public transport outside the centre on the A6 Chorley Road and Partington Lane and Swinton railway station is within walking distance on Station Road.

There is a pay and display car park at the front of the building.
