Neighbourhood Event Broughton - Greater Manchester Live Well – Spaces of Hope and Connection

Greater Manchester Live Well
Spaces of Hope and Connection

Date: 20th August 2025
Time: 2:30-4:00pm
Location: The Broughton Trust, The Booth Centre, Heath Avenue, Salford, M7 1NY

Salford CVS, as part of 10GM, are working with the National Lottery and a range of local partners to develop a strategic proposal for the National Lottery Community Fund (in the region of £10 million over 3 years) which will complement the wider GM Live Well Work.  This funding will not be from the Greater Manchester National Lottery Community Fund allocations but from a National Partnership Fund.

The investment will be for ‘Community Owned Spaces of Hope and Connection’ – to grow and sustain community-led spaces across Greater Manchester.

This event aims to engage Salford-based VCSE sector organisations in contributing to this bid and influence what this work would look like in Salford.

The session will focus on the following four areas:

  • Grow new spaces in underinvested communities and inequality runs deepest
  • Strengthen and sustain existing community-led spaces — helping them flourish long-term
  • Build a connected, city-region-wide network of thriving, trusted, community-led spaces
  • Surface new learning and compelling evidence about the impact of Spaces of Hope and how to make them thrive, building the case regionally as well as nationally.

Greater Manchester Live Well is a partnership between Greater Manchester Combined Authority, NHS Greater Manchester, and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector across Greater Manchester.  It began in 2021 when the Independent Equalities Commission proposed a whole system approach to putting health and wellbeing at the heart of strategic plans for Greater Manchester and is at the core of GM Mayor, Andy Burnham’s Manifesto commitment.  A £10m implementation fund has been invested in by GMCA and NHS GM to support the delivery of Andy Burnham’s vision in neighbourhoods for “everyday support, for everyone, in every neighbourhood.

Why attend the event?

  • This is your opportunity to learn what Live Well really is and what this means to Salford and your community
  • Have your say and help to shape Live Well Salford
  • Learn about new investments and resources for Salford
  • Take advantage of networking with VCSE colleagues and build relationships with other communities

Salford CVS feel it is important to create as many opportunities as we can to engage with those who support residents within the City of Salford, which is why although we had our main event on 31st July in Eccles we are making every effort to come to you in your own neighbourhood.
