Safeguarding Spotlight : Safer Recruitment training

Aim

To help VCSE organisations to embed a safer recruitment culture through all aspects of their recruitment, onboarding and support processes for staff and volunteers.  

Learning Outcomes 

As a result of attending the session learners will achieve the following learning outcomes: 

• Understand the importance of creating a safer recruitment culture 

• Understand how to embed a safer recruitment culture through all stages of recruitment 

• Understand the legal requirements relating to ID and DBS checks 

Target Audience 

• Managers and/or HR staff from VCSE organisations who are responsible for recruitment and HR functions that support staff and volunteers including Probation/Induction, Supervision and Appraisal 

• Managers that are responsible for Safer Recruitment policy.  

Accessibility 

• Accessible toilets on all floors 

• Bays for disabled parking outside on King Street (the road between the post office and Old Town Hall carpark) 

• Ground floor training room
