Organisation description: Neshomo befriends long term mentally ill people in the Greater Manchester Jewish community, the majority of whom reside in Salford. Many of its ‘clients’ are amongst the most vulnerable and high risk people in the community and the largely voluntary team of trained befrienders provide a support system that is simply unavailable elsewhere. Neshomo liaises closely with the local NHS mental health service which recognises that this ethnic minority requires culturally sensitive support and advocacy.
