Organisation description: We are a new Women Institute group based at Cardow Street Eccles, we meeting monthly on a Thursday and one of our main aims is to target loneliness and promote teaching and learning new skills. This is done by inviting speakers from a cross-section on a number of subjects, also demonstrations of various activities. We arrange outings, social gatherings and have a number of subgroups: Art & Craft, Crochet & Knitting, a BookClub and Walking Netball. We run a Christmas project every year supporting local charities. The main WI offer training courses are the head office in Oxfordshire where ladies can learn new skills and abilities.
