Organisations can apply for between £250 to £2,500 per project, with further information included in the application guidance (see below).
What is Empower her fund
The Empower Her Football Activity Fund supports projects that help more women and girls from underrepresented communities get involved in football.
The FA are especially keen to support projects that reach women and girls from:
- Ethnically diverse communities
- Faith communities
- Low-income backgrounds
The fund aims to help football happen locally, in places where women and girls feel safe, welcome and confident to take part.
The fund is looking to create opportunities to play, supporting female volunteers and role models, and increasing awareness. The fund is open to the following types of organisations, encouraging applications from small, informal and volunteer-led groups in GM; community group or voluntary organisations, charity or not-for-profit organisations, sports clubs, faith groups and public sector organisations. If you know, or are working with community groups who may be interested in this fund please make sure to share this opportunity with them.
Timelines
There will be two rounds to this funding with the following deadlines, you will be told the outcome of your application within 5 weeks of the deadline:
Application Round 1: 5pm on Friday 20th March
Application Round 2: 5pm on Wednesday 20th May
