Who do you work with?: Older people, Tenants and residents, Voluntary and community groups
Organisation description: Everyday People is a Co-operative community organisation. Our mission is to increase the well-being of older people & communities through fun activities and creative arts. Everyday People projects are designed to tackle social isolation and loneliness which are common factors in elderly housing and care settings and communities which strongly contribute to Dementia, which is an ever growing phenomena in the UK. We aim to;
- To increase the confidence and motivation of older people through creative reminiscence activities.
- To establish and reinforce friendship groups, local communities and self help networks.
- To raise awareness of the mental health problems associated with social isolation.
- To actively contribute to the field of Social Prescribing in delivering and evaluating social interventions for people experiencing a range of common mental health problems.
