Organisation description: Swinton Writers in t’Critchley House - referred to as SWit'CH'
SWit'CH Aims
To provide an environment for the local community for recreational, social or educational enjoyment of members’ creative writing.
To support each other and strengthen community spirit by co-operative involvement in creative writing.
To involve members in associated disciplines, including but not limited to, illustrating, editing, proofing, reading, publishing and distribution.
To promote and encourage equal opportunities within the group
To work closely with other groups having compatible aims and objectives.
SWit'CH Activities
Writing, reading and publishing members’ work, including but not limited to fiction and non-fiction, reports, poetry and plays.
Projects will take into consideration the needs and priorities of local people.
Tasks will be set by members in rotation to give maximum variety and challenge.
The work of SWITCH will take into account how it can be used for the greater benefit of the community in general and not-for-profit organisations whenever possible..
SWit'CH Membership
Membership will be open to all irrespective of age, race, ability, gender, political or religious belief.
Writers and non-writing support service providers will have equal status and equal rights.
