Organisation description: Combat Fitness is an established not for profit organisation and has been based in Salford for over 10 years. We are a Health and wellbeing group affiliated with Salford Sports Network and Salford Foundation for the last 5 years and has been running projects for the past 10 years in Salford with the help of Salford Sports Development Team. This helped us make progress with our organisation understanding the needs of potential service users, evaluating their needs and developing workshops and sessions which in turn suits them best.

Our main service users are young people, some of which have been referred to us by Salford Foundation, an organisation that runs various programmes for young people in Salford. Other service users have come from Salford College and Salford University who have heard about the project from peers and through our project marketing material including flyers, posters and health events.

Volunteers are a key part of our service delivery. We have successfully recruited and trained volunteers who have supported the project in many different ways, including weekly mentoring meetings with service users, helping develop and deliver training materials, health event support, youth champions and youth proofing.
