Organisation description: IMM (Intergenerational Music Making) is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering connection and collaboration through music and creativity. Since 2018, IMM has worked across the UK with care homes, schools, hospitals, housing organisations, and cultural spaces, delivering over 2,500 projects and training 700 individuals, including care staff, young people, and volunteers.
Key Areas of Focus:
1. Creative Delivery: IMM uses music and storytelling to create meaningful intergenerational connections, improve mental and physical well-being, and bridge generational divides.
2. Grassroots Impact: Projects empower individuals, nurture equal-status interactions, and cultivate a sense of belonging, enhancing participants' confidence, resilience, and creativity.
3. Holistic Approach: IMM embeds intergenerational practices into caresettings, leveraging creativity to tackle loneliness, isolation, and other social challenges.
4. Evidence-BasedOutcomes:
o 97% increase in confidence among young participants.
o 85% of participants reported feeling more connected to others. o 34% improvement in well-being across WHO-5 measures.
Signature Achievements:
• National campaigns and intergenerational music events with audiences of up to 2,000.
• Projects spanning care homes, schools, hospitals, and community hubs.
• Intergenerational assemblies in 15+ schools across the UK.
• Collaboration with community partners to embed music therapy and creative
arts in holistic care models.
