Organisation description: At the Eastern Sudan Community Association (ESCA-UK), we support the Eastern Sudanese community living in the United Kingdom through social, cultural, educational, and welfare initiatives.
Our work focuses on:
* Helping people integrate and thrive, we run outreach and advice programmes that help individuals and families access education, employment, housing, and healthcare, ensuring no one feels excluded.
* Preserving culture and language, We teach Arabic and Beja languages, share Eastern Sudanese history and traditions, and collaborate on projects that document and celebrate our heritage.
* Empowering our community, We provide training, workshops, and leadership development to help people gain skills, find jobs, and confidently participate in society.
* Supporting well-being, we offer advice, counselling, and community support groups for those facing challenges such as isolation, trauma, or cultural adjustment.
* Building partnerships, We work with local councils, charities, and cultural organisations to promote understanding, inclusion, and harmony among all communities in the UK.
