How the money can be spent

What can the money be spent on

Money can be spent on:

  • Improvements to shop fronts, restoring spaces and empty units.
  • Workshops supporting local people e.g. employability, community schemes.
  • Capacity building in the community e.g. participatory budgeting, volunteering, community ownership, services.
  • Physical changes or additions to public, community, and green spaces to improve safety and appearance.
  • Improvements to shop fronts, restoring spaces and empty units.

Money can not be spent on:

  • Party-political, campaigning or lobbying activity.
  • Anything that only benefits a private individual or business commercially, with no wider public benefit.
  • Spend that duplicates or replaces another body's statutory duty (schools, policing, NHS, statutory council services e.g. potholes).
  • Retrospective costs - things already bought or paid for before approval.
  • Activity or assets outside our designated Pride in Place neighbourhood.
